Many every day items can be recycled. Contact your recycling coordinator or local department of environmental services to find out what is being recycled in your community.
Try using alternative products:
Less hazardous products can be re-used for common household cleaning. Eg; Occasionally pouring baking soda and vinegar down your drains can keep them from clogging.
Dispose of products properly:
Products should never be discarded on the ground or poured into storm drains. Some products shouldn't even be disposed of in the trash or down the toilet. These products should be saved and taken to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection depot. You can contact your sanitation department, local or state/provincial department of environmental services to find out about HHW collection depots in your area.
